‘NCIS’ Scoop: Pauley Perrette confirms ‘big Abby story coming’

Getting scoop out of the casts of NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles can be tricky. But at Friday’s 2010 Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film pre-Emmy hootenanny, I gave it the old college try, grilling Pauley Perrette and Barrett Foa to within an inch of their lives. What did I find out? Former Avenue Q denizen Foa revealed what he and new on-screen sidekick Renee Felice Smith get up to in his trailer when they’re not theatre-geeking out, and Perrette all but confirmed that this is the season Abby’s elusive backstory will take center stage.

Michael Weatherly Signs Deal to Return to NCIS

After a protracted and somewhat contentious negotiation period, Michael Weatherly has finally signed a new, multi-year deal to return to NCIS for its eighth season.

Entertainment Weekly confirms that Weatherly, who plays wise-cracking Tony DiNozzo, will be back for Season 8 and beyond, keeping the cast almost wholly intact.

Sean Murray is the only cast member without a new contract. Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum all reached new deals to return in recent months.

Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo already had deals in place for Season 8. Harmon, Weatherly, Perrette and McCallum have appeared on all 162 episodes of the show.

Once Murray signs a new contract, which he is expected to, the complete NCIS cast will be signed for multiple seasons, great news for fans of TV’s best-rated drama.

Pauley Perrette to return

The NCIS contract renegotiation saga inched closer to resolution this evening with the news that Pauley Perrette (Abby) has inked a new multi-year deal to remain with the show.

Of the five NCIS cast members in limbo, Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum have also reached new deals to return. Still at the negotiating table: Michael Weatherly and Sean Murray. A well-placed source, however, assures me that both are close re-signing.

Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo already had deals in place for next season.
