‘NCIS’ season 9 spoilers: Robert Wagner’s return as Tony’s father |
NCIS has quite a lot planned for its ninth season, which will include its 200th episode, and part of that includes some returns. Robert Wagner will be back as Tony’s father, and now there are some more details, such as when that will happen, out about it.
More Anthony DiNozzo Sr.
According to TVGuide, Wagner is returning as Anthony DiNozzo Sr. in the Christmas episode, and Michael Weatherly said, “I’m sure there will be all the style, the panache, and glamour that Mr. Wagner always brings with him … but I have a feeling that there’s a good bit of edge that we’ll have in this one.” Wagner has been in two NCISepisodes, season 7′s “Flesh and Blood,” which introduced his DiNozzo Sr. to everyone, and season 8′s “Broken Arrow,” which had Gibbs and his team using him in a bit of undercover work. What will bring him back this time, especially for the Christmas episode? Will more be revealed about Tony’s past? Tony’s obviously going to be changed after what happens in the season premiere; will Senior know about it? Tony didn’t have the best childhood, which has been seen over the years via comments from Tony and a couple of brief conversations with Senior, so what was Christmas like for the DiNozzos? Will father and son spend the holiday together, or will Senior be off on another flight before that can happen?
Are you looking forward to seeing more of Tony’s father on NCIS in season 9?

NCIS Season Premiere Review: His Navy, My Team |
Even if the ninth season premiere of NCIS was slower-paced and more complicated than you expected, it still provided a compelling conclusion to Tony’s secret mission while setting up a new foil, and a new enemy, for Gibbs.
It takes consistently strong writing and characters to pull off an episode like “Nature of the Beast” without making certain plot elements – interdepartmental politics temporary amnesia, Scott Wolf – feel hokey.
That’s NCIS for you, though. Just when you think you have it figured out, you don’t. Not by a mile. Time and again, we’re thrown curveballs that not only change the game, but the rules it’s played by, and the players who call the shots.
Tuesday was no exception, and it was superb.

‘NCIS’ star teases new team members |
NCIS star Pauley Perrette has dropped hints about the new additions to the show’s cast.
It was confirmed earlier this month that a new batch of NCIS agents would join the regular team members towards the end of the eighth season.
“As far as the new team coming in, character-wise, I think everybody’s fur stands up a little bit in the beginning,” Perrette explained to TV Guide. “[My character] Abby always wants to protect her team and doesn’t like change, but it’s always an interesting element to throw somebody else in there.”
The actress, who has played forensics specialist Abby Sciuto since 2003, also revealed that upcoming episodes will be linked by a new plot arc.
“As we’re going into the end of season eight, there’s a thread that’s running through the whole thing [and] it’s imperative not to miss a second,” she claimed. “Don’t miss a beat!”
The eighth season of NCIS is currently expected to conclude in May. A ninth run has already been commissioned, after the show achieved a ratings high of 22.85m viewers last month.
The show continues on Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
